Spring: The Ideal Time To Strengthen Your Liver Health
It’s Spring: The Ideal Time to Embrace the Wood Dragon Energy & Strengthen Your Liver
Riding Your Dragon into the Heart of Spring: Your Liver Health in the year of Wood Dragon
Spring is the ideal time of year to address the health of your liver…
WHY? While you can address issues related to liver and gallbladder at any time, the greatest quality and quantity of supportive energy to that organ system is available in springtime
BIG BONUS ENERGY this calendar year is everywhere due to the year2024 being that of the Wood Dragon. The quality and conditions available to us during such a time offer a rare combination power and vitality. Think all of the awesome power and mystical energies of a DRAGON riding high with the nourishing, growth and flexible qualities of the wood element (think specifically of that of a TREE).
We attune to many types of vibrations throughout our days and seasons. Typically those which are in abundance given the time of year, the environment and conditions of people and places we frequent. These connections to qualities and patterns of energy, whether they be personalities, foods, sunshine, colors, sounds, the air we breathe, the fabrics we wear or the forms of nature in our midst (or lack of thereof) have BIG IMPACTS.
We can think defensively about those energies or we can EMBRACE those which show up to support our well-being and complement our health and wellness.
THINK about the resilience and rootedness as well as the fruitfulness of a TREE. When we spend time near them, or perhaps eat their fruits, sketch one or enjoy its shade, we bathe in that energy, attuning to its strength and benefitting from its properties of suppleness and gravity-defying vertical growth.
Within the energies available during a WOOD DRAGON year, this means exponential GROWTH is in the air and available, as well as POWER and FLEXIBILITY supporting CHANGE. Why not channel this energy toward changes and improvements in your health and wellness?
Almost every American has a lifestyle which stands to challenge their liver. When the liver is not able to keep up with the demands of detoxification created by the environments we inhabit, the foods and drinks we consume, and the many chronic stresses we experience, we develop symptoms which manifest as or are attributed to such things as aging, hormonal imbalance, exhaustion, autoimmune disease, fatigue, anxiety, depression or just plain loss of get-up-and-go. The solutions can be simple.
If you are experiencing any of the following*, consider strengthening your liver this spring:

When a cherry tree doesn’t bloom in the spring, the arborist knows there is an imbalance.
Our bodies are the same. If you feel your body is out of balance, here are some natural energetic ways to strengthen your liver as well as your mind, body, spirit.
Food that is green and vertical will support your liver. My favorites at this time of year are celery and asparagus. Green leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, collard greens, broccoli and Brussels sprouts are also very beneficial. Adding these to your diet can give you a natural energy boost and help you feel your best, while supporting gentle detoxification of your liver.
One of the best things you can do, especially at this time of year is to spend time in nature. Consider forest bathing, or spend time in your own yard or neighborhood amongst trees. A good healthy tree will emit positive energy and strength that your body’s energy field will recognize and align with naturally.
During the year of the Wood Dragon, add wood to your environment. Tall carved statues, wooden beads, art that includes wooden structures or trees, wooden furniture, adding essential oils to wood in your living space, even screensavers that include images of forests will provide liver support in your living and work space.
Add traditional herbs and teas to your diet. Herbal teas are an easy way to love your liver. Herbs such as turmeric, milk thistle, artichoke, and dandelion root have been traditionally used to support liver function. Green tea and Matcha make excellent replacements for regular coffee, tea or soda.
